Barbara was born in Wairoa, that lovely river town 140 km north east of Napier.
She has no particular favourite music album at present but does admit the music of Lauren Diago has touched her heart of late and has been a regular on her playlists.
On the Dining Menu, she looks for her favourite Massaman Curry, and if choosing a dessert it would have to be custard. As for inviting four people (living or dead) around for dinner Barbara immediately said
“Always family”—my husband ( who sadly passed away too young in 2022), their absolutely gorgeous son and daughter with their respective spouse/partner and her grandchildren who make her feel so proud.
There is obviously always room for one or two more at Barbara’s table, as she would also like to chat with Captain Cook and Neil Armstrong. It would be fascinating to listen to these two men converse with each other on their expeditions into the unknown, at two opposite ends of the discovery continuum.
Although Green is her favourite colour the All Blacks are her favourite team, and if she could have her young days back again the volleyball court would be her most favourite place to play.
Barbara has enjoyed cycling for many years and through cycling, thought it would be great to bring pleasure to others and not just benefit herself. She also likes to support others in many other ways including driving for the Napier St John Health Shuttle.
Thanks Barbara, it is great to have you in the team.
