Cycling Without Age Napier

Passenger Information

  • You are picked up from your home and remain in the Trishaw for the duration of the ride, using the seat belt at all times.
  • You need to be able to get in and out of the Triobike.
  • The Pilot and any Companion rider may only lend a hand for support.
  • If you require more help, have someone to assist and accompany you.
  • Current areas serviced are Taradale, Greenmeadows, Marewa.
  • We limit ‘on-road’ riding and design routes adjacent to your home which are quiet and allow for conversation.
  • Rides are free and there is no payment required or expected.
  • Rides are not for appointments or errands; they are purely recreational.
  • Stops along the way may include parks, playgrounds, or coffee and ice cream breaks. We always make time to stop and chat with others.
  • A ride can be up to 30-45 minutes, based on your needs and desires.
  • Our Passenger Handbook includes the Application and Waiver Form at the end, which must be submitted and approved before the first ride. The form can also be filled out and submitted online.

Want to meet the trishaws that bring joy to our passengers? Get to know Maggie, Nola, and Joy, and the stories behind their names.

  • Weekly pre-arranged rides are at a time and day of your choosing (depending on availability of pilots and trishaws) and are usually scheduled for the same weekday and time, often with the same pilot.
  • We will try to ensure that your requests are met, but rides are subject to volunteer and trishaw availability.
  • You need not wear a helmet unless you want to.
  • Pilots are required to wear helmets.
  • The triobike can take two, so bring family/carer/friend to enjoy the ride, however, they must also sign a waiver form before riding.
  • We are happy if family like to ride their bike(s) alongside the trishaw.
  • Smoking, alcohol and recreational drug use are not permitted by anyone, at any time on the Trishaws. Pilots, at their discretion, can refuse rides if they feel the safety of the passenger or themselves is jeopardised.
  • In the case of bad weather, the ride will be cancelled. This is at the discretion of the pilot and passenger.
